FAQs

If you have more questions than what is listed here, please reach out to the couple and we would be more than happy to help!
Question

What is the attire for the wedding?

Answer

Semi-formal or Dressy Casual Attire is requested at the ceremony and reception. We ask that you please refrain from wearing jeans or white/cream colors. Below are links to descriptions and examples of what this would include for both women and men. Please think “Sunday best” or “business casual” but be comfortable enough to spend the day celebrating and dancing with us. Our color scheme is grays and blues so feel free to coordinate if you would like but it is by no means required. https://www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-dressy-casual

Question

Are Children Invited to the Wedding?

Answer

If children were included on your addressed invitation and listed when you RSVP’d on our wedding website then we welcome them to attend! All invited children are welcome at the ceremony, but we ask you to use caution on whether they can sit through an approximately 30 minute ceremony. Older children are encouraged to join for the reception and dance with us in the evening! We will have an onsite babysitter for children under 3 years during cocktail hour and the reception so that our friends and family can enjoy the celebration. Please let us know ahead of time if your child will be staying with the sitter so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Is the location accessible?

Answer

There is a stair entrance at the front of the venue and a ramp entrance around the back. The venue itself once inside is a single floor. There will be plenty of chairs available for those who may need them. Accessible parking may be limited but it should be fairly easy to unload near a door.

Question

What Parking is Available?

Answer

This venue is in downtown Chattanooga and there may be limited free parking near the venue. Please reserve the gravel lot attached to the building for vendors. There is paid street parking right along the building as well as numerous paid lots located here. We have discounted rate available at the lot located at 320 E Main St if you use the code “Stephens” when paying and it is a short walk to the venue. Please note any rules for parking at any of these locations to avoid tickets. If you plan to be drinking, we strongly encourage you to take advantage of ride sharing services, and there is ample availability in the city for you to be able to get a ride to and from the venue. We want all our loved ones to arrive and leave in a safe manner! Please visit https://weddingvenue-tn.com/chattanooga-wedding-parking/ for a map of available parking

Question

Will the venue be inside or outside?

Answer

The venue is an indoor venue and will allow for a beautiful ceremony and reception rain or shine. We intend to use the back deck area during cocktail hour, weather permitting.

Question

Will there be bathrooms?

Answer

There are plenty of indoor bathrooms available onsite for all our guests!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

If a plus one is indicated on your invitation and when you RSVP, then we welcome you to bring a guest who will enjoy the celebration with you. At this time we are not accommodating further plus ones.

Question

Are phones allowed? Can I take pictures?

Answer

We ask that you refrain from using your phone during the ceremony and have it off or on silent. We will give guests a photo op minute at the beginning of the ceremony to get all the pictures you want of the couple and then ask that you please put it away as we have incredibly talented professional photographers and videographers there to capture all the special moments for us and we would love for you to be present when we say “I do”. Once cocktail hour and the reception begins you are welcome to use your phone for photos but we ask that you continue to keep it on silent. We would love for everyone to share their candids and selfies with us and will provide a way to do so on the day of the wedding.

Question

What will the menu be?

Answer

We will have a buffet available with many different food options for our guests to choose from. If you have specific dietary concerns, please let the couple know in advance and we will do our best to work with the caterer to accommodate.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

We will have an open bar available with limited beer and wine selections only. We ask all guests to be responsible and plan a ride home if necessary. We want everyone to have a fun and safe evening and there are plenty of Ubers and Lyfts available in the area if needed.

Question

Am I invited to the rehearsal dinner?

Answer

We would love to have all of our guests at our rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding. Wedding days can get busy for the couple and it can be difficult for them to spend meaningful time with all their guests. The rehearsal dinner will be a casual time for us to hang out with all our loved ones and we would love to see you there! We know it isn’t traditional to invite every guest to two days of events, but we recognize so many friends and family will be traveling from out of town and we want to maximize this quality time with each and every guest!

Question

Where is the venue located?

Answer

The Venue is called the Historic and is located in downtown Chattanooga, TN. The address is 1601 Rossville Ave Chattanooga, TN 37408

Question

When is the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 3:30pm. We ask that you please arrive before the start time so as not to interrupt the ceremony and disturb the event. If you will be unable to arrive in time, we kindly ask you to wait and join us for cocktail hour and the reception starting at 4:30pm. If you arrive after the start of the ceremony you will NOT be able to be seated. We understand that life happens and sometimes being late is inevitable and would still love you to join us later in the evening. We encourage guests to arrive 30 minutes early to the venue so they have ample time to find parking, walk in, sign the guest book and settle in a seat at the venue before the ceremony begins.

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

We ask all guests to RSVP by October 18. Unfortunately those who do not RSVP by this deadline will be assumed to not be attending and we will not be able to accommodate late RSVPs as we have to turn in final numbers to our vendors at this time so they can adequately prepare for the event.

Question

Where do I RSVP?

Answer

There is a link directly on this website! We do not need a formal RSVP sent in by mail. Instead, please look up your name on the RSVP page and let us know virtually that you are coming!

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We do have a registry and are accepting donations for a future honeymoon, but please know we do not expect gifts from our guests and would rather you come and spend the day celebrating our love and marriage with us rather than worrying about a gift or letting it be prohibitive.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

For those not in the South, late Fall can be a little unpredictable here. Please monitor the weather as it is equally likely to be warm or rainy as it is to be cold here in November!

Question

What happens between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

We invite guests to enjoy a cocktail hour with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres. The reception is in the same location as the ceremony, just in a different space of the venue, so there is no need for guests to leave or travel to a new location.

Question

When will the reception end?

Answer

We will have an early mock “exit” ahead of dessert so guests wishing to call it an early evening are able to do so and the photographer can capture pictures of guests sending the couple off. The reception itself will end around 9pm.
