We had known each other since 2008, but in 2022 the Lord started talking to both of us about the other. As we were both seeking the Lord about our future spouses, He would reveal things to us about how the other would be. In May of 2022, the Lord gave Adam three traits his future spouse would have. Adam kept preparing his heart and waiting on the Lord before moving forward with what he was speaking with him about. On Thursday, December 15th he asked Lily to go on their first date. At first she said "no" to mess with him then she agreed, and they went out to Tin Roost on December 18th on their first date. They shared with each other what they had on their hearts and on there way back Lily asked Adam if this made them official and he said yes. Right after they became official Lily messaged her family in a group chat and said "Guys... I have a boyfriend." We have learned that it always pays to respond and obey promptings from the Lord. Never limit God and the doors He opens for you. He wants for you more than you think, dream or imagine.

I (Adam) planned a special evening and surprised Lily by picking her up (as I always do) and taking her out to dinner at her favorite restaurant. I held out two pieces of paper and had her pick one. I told her that know matter what she couldn't say "no". She picked the piece of paper that said Home Goods and blessed her with a certain amount to get whatever she wanted. Then I took her to Lake McBride which is our favorite place to walk together. We enjoyed the peace and quiet until people came by with their super loud boat and people trying to walk toward us as I'm about to propose. Finally, we were alone on a bench near the lake . As we were about to leave I said "...but before we leave I have one more gift for you. Close your eyes." When she closed her eyes, I got down on one knee and said "Okay, you can open your eyes." As soon as she opened them, she started to cry, and when I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me, with tears in her eyes, and holding her cheeks, she said YES!!
