Never been to Broadway? Head downtown to the historic stretch of bars that have made Nashville what it is today. Grab a rooftop drink and take in live music all day every day at the biggest and best Honky Tonk bars such as Tootsie's, Chief's, Honky Tonk Central, and Layla's (the only female owned bar on Broadway).
Visit 12 South to experience local shops, restaurants, and culture in a beautiful and walkable stretch featuring such Nashville staples as Imogene + Willie, Five Daughters Donuts, and White's Mercantile.
Located in the heart of Centennial Park and minutes off of Vanderbilt's campus is Nashville's very own 100% to scale recreation of the Parthenon that has to be seen to be believed. Erected in 1897, this replica of the original Greek Parthenon was intended to solidify Nashville as "The Athens of the South". Very cool. Really neat.
One of country music's most revered stages, the Grand Ole Opry has hosted hundreds of the best musicians that country has to offer. Also, there's a mall right next to it that has a Dave and Buster's and a Rainforest Cafe. Something for everyone. Alternatively, the Ryman Auditorium off Broadway was the Opry's original home, and is always worth a tour.
Although there's a never-ending debate as to who does it best, Hattie B's is our go to spot for Nashville's classic Hot Chicken Sandwich. Locations across the city make this easy to access, and even easier to Doordash when hungover.
If you don't count the Taco Bell Cantina off Broadway (joking), this has to be our number one spot for tacos in town. Cozy up to a cocktail and a crunchwrap while a retro movie plays behind the bar.
One of our favorite record stores in town, Grimey's features two floors of all the new and classic vinyl that anyone could desire, all wrapped in a neatly muralled brick building. Additionally, you can pop out back to check out Anaconda Vintage, or next door for a pint at Living Waters Brewing/Coffee Bar.
Looking to channel your inner Nashvillian? Head to one of Adam and Kelsey’s new favorite spots—Rustler Hat Co.—where you can design your very own custom cowboy hat. We went to make ours for the wedding and had the best time. It’s the perfect way to create a one-of-a-kind souvenir (and look extra sharp while you’re at it).
Seeking out some well loved Music City memorabilia? Nashville is teeming with great thrifting. From the expected things like classic records and vintage boots, to oddities from the areas rich distilling and art histories, you never know what you might find. Try out spots like GasLamp Antiques, Vinterest, Wicked Ollie’s Vintage, East Nashville Antiques, or Backslide Vintage.
There’s nothing better than cheap beer, low lights and good music served up over the counter of a small barroom with a mysteriously sticky floor. Check out some of our favorite haunts when you’re hankering for a drink or some greasy grub! Dee’s Country Cocktail Lounge and Skinny Dennis have your drinks covered, while spots like Dino’s, Duke’s, Schulman’s, and The Centennial are always serving up classic bar fare as well as libations.
