In the Summer of 2014, soccer (football for you Brits) ruled the T.V. in the staff lounge of Camp Lee Mar. When Jill and Adam first met, Adam couldn’t even tell you that new staffers entered the lounge; he was that into the game on the T.V. After the World Cup finished hogging Adam’s life, he quickly came around to meeting new people. Adam and Jill spent numerous hours together that summer getting to know each other. When camp ended, they intended to go their separate ways. That is, until Jill decided to come to England that December. While in England that December, Jill became the first girl to be formally introduced to Adam’s family. During their first meeting, Adam’s dad looked at Jill and said, “Oh, another tall one.” At that point, Jill knew that things were about to get interesting. After this time together, Adam and Jill quickly planned their next visits. The 3,447 miles that separated them, made the two realize they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. On July 18, 2016, Adam proposed to Jill while on the Sound of Music Tour in Salzburg, Austria. With Lake Wolfgang as the backdrop, Adam got down on one knee as an Australian lady on the tour screamed “Oh My God!” instead of taking photos as Adam had requested. Despite the lack of real time photos, it is definitely a trip the two will never forget.
