Adam got help making a Jdate profile (thanks Asens) and Ilana got hers as a present. Adam messaged Ilana and she thought the puppy (and Adam) in his photo looked cute and messaged back! Their first date was on February 9, 2017 at Pho Dakao. He told army stories and she laughed. She told Peace Corps stories and he laughed. They kissed! He was pretty sure she was the one. He even told the Foreign Legion. He came to pick her up for date two and went down her icy driveway (against her warnings) to be a gentleman and open the door. She was right and the car got stuck. He was sure she would leave him as he got shovels and freed the car. They were late to bowling but enjoyed dinner! They agreed to go bowling for the third date. Adam was relieved and continued opening doors for her. While bowling, Ilana worried that her poor bowling performance would scare him away. He was confused why bowling should have such powers. He was not scared away. Ilana was relieved. After celebrating Passover with each other’s families, Ilana moved in with Adam! She ran a half marathon in Maine and he came to support her. She raced hard. He cheered, ate donuts, and found her half way and cheered some more. She was thankful he was there. That’s when she knew he was the one. They got a puppy. He got an engagement ring from her mom. Things were great! They decided to go to Israel. The night before the trip they ate lasagna from a Pyrex. Ilana fell to the floor laughing; she thought it was hilarious. Adam almost proposed right there and then, but he decided to wait for Israel. He still doesn’t understand why eating lasagna from the pan is hilarious. It is just delicious. They were walking around Israel and it was sunny between rain showers. A rainbow appeared when they were between two burned out warehouses. They made it to the beach a few minutes later and Adam got on one knee and proposed. Maybe he said something beautiful, but Ilana doesn’t remember. He put the ring on her hand as she said yes!
