Our Love Story: Gabby and Adam met how so many in their generation meet nowadays, on the app Hinge: the app meant to be deleted. After talking for about a month and a few rescheduled first dates, they finally met on a sunny, Sunday morning at a coffee shop in Lincoln Park, Coffee Lab. They enjoyed conversation filled with smiles, laughter, and bonding over the outdoors, ghosts, and everything that came to mind. After an afternoon apart Adam could not wait to see Gabby again, quite literally. He invited Gabby out for drinks later that evening at what would become one of their favorite breweries, Old Irving Brewery. They continued to share stories of their life over beers and left that night pining for the next time they would see each other. Gabby was a travel nurse whose contract was coming to an end at the University of Chicago Medicine, leaving them both with some uncertainty in their future together. They knew they had something special, and Gabby was excited to return to the Windy City after some time home in Cleveland for the holidays. Gabby decided to extend her contract at the University of Chicago Medicine and Adam and Gabby began to see each other almost daily. They could not spend enough time together. Shortly after Gabby coming back, they made their relationship official and shared those 3 little words to each other; “I love you.” In spring of 2022, Gabby’s lease was coming to an end at her current apartment over Peqoud’s Pizza, and they decided to move into Adams small garden apartment together with Gabby’s two dogs, Lucy and Ethel, who quickly became “their” dogs. They quickly realized they wanted some more space (and light) and packed up their things to venture into Wicker Park to continue living their life together. Time passed and they fell further and further in love with one another over many trips throughout the country from Madison, WI to Colorado and even as far as Southern California. Gabby and Adam love traveling with one another. Gabby, Adam, and their girls continued to build their life together in Wicker Park through the summer of 2023, when they moved once more to Albany Park. They had a trip planned to Washington in September where they wanted to immerse themselves in the beauty of the outdoors, in which they first bonded over. In July, Gabby and Adam decided they wanted to be married in a way that made them feel special in a place that was just as special as their love. Adam proposed to Gabby in their new kitchen one evening with the intention of amending their Washington itinerary to be married amongst the mountains with their closest friends and family only 2 short months later. They kept their nuptials quiet over those next 2 months, while planning their fairytale wedding together. They wanted their wedding to feel intimate and all about their love for one another and the union between the 2 of them and on September 3rd, 2023, it was just that. After their wedding, they finished their intended travel through the beautiful Olympic National Park, exploring the beauty surrounding them and their love for each other. After returning to Chicago following their union to one another, they couldn’t wait to begin planning their celebration with those they love most. And that’s how you all ended up here. They cannot wait to celebrate this wild love story with their friends and family at their one-year anniversary party this September 2024 and continue this journey together as husband and wife.
