Question

I am arriving in Delhi a few days before the wedding. Where should I stay?

Answer

We are thrilled that you will be coming to Delhi for a few days and hope you can join us at the welcome event on the 30 October. We have several recommendations for where to stay, including The Leela Palace New Delhi, the Hyatt Regency Delhi, and the Grand Hyatt Delhi.

Question

I am unsure if I can make it to India. How should I respond?

Answer

In order to get an accurate headcount, we would greatly appreciate if you make up your mind as soon as possible. That said, we understand that India is a long trip for those coming from America. If you are not yet sure whether or not you will be able to come, please reach out over email to Adam (adambblock1@gmail.com), Dhriti (tandon.dhriti@gmail.com), Barbara and Joel (bbayldon@gmail.com), or Shivani and Manoj (manojtandon@hotmail.com).

Question

I have a dietary restriction. Whom should I contact?

Answer

We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions. When you RSVP, please email adamdhriti2025@gmail.com to let us know of your restrictions. Vegetarian and non-spicy food preferences will already be accommodated.

Question

Should I book a hotel and flight?

Answer

In Indian weddings, it is traditional for all guests to stay at the same venue. We are happy to say that accommodations have already been arranged at the Aurika in Udaipur (https://www.lemontreehotels.com/aurika-hotels-resorts/udaipur/udaipur-hotels). For those coming from America, we generally recommend booking flights to India as you know your plans. Several airlines fly directly to Mumbai and Delhi, and Udaipur is a short 1 hour flight from either of these cities.

Question

I have never been to an Indian wedding before. Is there anything special I need to do or wear?

Answer

Please stay tuned; we will have more information in January. We will provide guidance for those that wish to join in the Indian traditions but there will be a lot of flexibility.

Question

I have never been to India before. What should I do after going to the wedding?

Answer

We understand that India is a long way from America, so you may want to add on a vacation while you are here. It is our recommendation to travel around India after the wedding itself, because the weather will be much more comfortable. We love the Blue Guide India (https://www.blueguides.com/destinations/india/) for its detailed historical exposition and excellent recommendations. In addition to the standard destinations such as Delhi, the Taj Mahal, and Jaipur, we also love the desert city of Jaisalmer and the beautiful architecture of the historic Rajputana forts, such as Mehrangarh, Kumbhalgarh, and Chittorgarh.
