We matched on Tinder in 2015 and chatted for about a month before finally agreeing to meet for a first date on October 10. We planned on meeting at Dave & Busters for dinner and some games, only to find when we arrived that D&Bs had moved location! (To make things weirder, we were extra confused because BOTH of us had been there the week before and the original location had been open and operating as normal...) Adam, being a gentleman, offered to drive me to the new location, but I politely declined because, well, stranger danger. Despite the snafu, we met up at the new location and carried on. One of us talked non-stop the whole date (we’ll let you guess which one). We officially went steady October 30, when Adam asked me if he could start introducing me to people as his girlfriend.

Fast forward to March 8th 2021, we took an evening walk down Bird Island Pier (my favorite place in our home city, Buffalo, NY), hoping to watch the sunset. The walk was colder than we expected, but we kept going (someone was very intent on continuing despite his hatred of being cold). About 3/4’s of the way down, we discovered that part of the pier had broken and partially washed away! Even though we couldn’t get all the way to the end of the pier (which has a great view of the city skyline), we stayed there anyway. As we watched the sun start to set, Adam very casually pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked me if we could make our future plans a little more official.

We will be having a very small wedding ceremony (in a castle!) and a small reception in Scotland. But don’t worry! We will be hosting a Happily Ever After party in Buffalo upon our return home to celebrate with all our friends and family.
