We met on Bumble mere moments before we both gave up and deleted the app. Adam's parents were in town so it took us a few weeks to lock in a first date, but he did a really good job of keeping Chrissy's attention until we could finally meet. Adam chose the Industry Cafe for live jazz and Ethiopian food. He was on a call when Chrissy arrived, so she hung back and waited. She walked in to find a visibly disappointed Adam because music was cancelled and he was really trying to woo her. When he turned to meet Chrissy it felt like someone turned on the lights -- instant electricity! We shared a meal and walked over to the Culver Hotel for a drink. In true Florida Man form, Adam stole a rose from a vase on the host stand and when he leaned in for a kiss one of us stumbled and we knocked teeth. We've been laughing ever since. We agree it was the most memorable first date either of us have ever had.
Adam + Chrissy will make their big love official with a private ceremony under an olive tree in a Los Angeles backyard (and a golden hour photoshoot, of course), followed by a few hours of celebration with local friends and family. We're keeping this as unfussy as possible. This is an elopement, not a wedding after all! The honeymoon begins early the next morning when our steed -- a rented camper van -- will chariot Adam, Chrissy + Styx on a 15-hour trip to Santa Fe, NM. If we hurry we can catch the last 2 days of snowboarding Taos Ski Vally Resort before the season ends on April 9! Then we'll rest our weary bones in the mineral broth of Ojo Caliente, nestled in the high desert between Taos and Santa Fe. Ojo Caliente is a rustic spa with an organic restaurant, yoga, massage, hiking, and dog-friendly RV camping. We'll move on to a few days of exploring Santa Fe's swoon-worthy restaurants, museums, art, hikes, history...and a couple nights in a nice hotel. Chrissy lived in Santa Fe in 2007 -- this is where she fell in love with yoga -- and has wanted to share the magic with Adam since they met. We'll visit the Georgia O'Keefe museum, historical sites, and wild flower dotted high desert trails. If we're lucky we'll have a little time to explore Petrified Forest National Park and Sedona, AZ on our leisurely drive home. We love crystals! All told this will be a 10-day adventure. Gifts are not expected, but if you're feeling generous consider contributing to our honeymoon fund. As you know, we recently bought our first home and don't have much of a budget left! We're well stocked on life essentials, so anything additional just adds to our already big feelings of abundance. Hugs!
