I was on instagram one day when i recieved a follow request from a cutie by the name of Adam Wilkins. I accepted and went about my typical posts. For a few weeks i kept getting notifications of likes by this adam guy; still having no clue on who he was. I was just getting out of a very unhappy relationship when i decided to explore my options on dating sites. I made a bumble account and began swiping. One random day i received a new match notification from no other than Adam. I thought oh my god, this is him!? His profile picture was him sitting on a rock at the ocean, I said to myself who is this cutie sitting on a rock? And shot the first message. We hit it off messaging about my love for serial killer shows and began snap chatting everyday. He was on vacation at the time so we continued to snap chat and text for two weeks straight before meeting. I had already planned our first date for the day he got back. We went out and have been inseparable since.
Adam and I had been together for a little over one year by the time vacation rolled around. We were going to Cancun Mexico. I truly did not think adam was going to propose because he said it was cliche and he was getting pressure from all his friends asking when he was going to pop the question. With adam being one of the last ones in his friend group to settle down, i totally believed him. We even talked about looking at some more rings once we got back home ( I gave him a tude for that). It was our last full day when we decided to go explore the island and the life of the locals. We golf carted around the town, fed some sea turtles, and went to one of their beautiful beaches. He had asked my mom if she would take some pictures of us on the beach (still being clueless) he then stated something was on my foot and bent down to “get it off” and thats when i looked down and he was on one knee asking if i would marry him. Im pretty sure i did not even say yes but instead, yelling EEKKK!!! out of excitement and total shock. It is very hard to surprise me so the fact that the day went as perfectly as it did just makes it that much more memorable.
