We met our sophomore year at Oregon State University in a Biology lecture. We shared a mutual friend at the time whom Casey had found first and took a seat with at the first class of the fall term. Adam arrived minutes before the lecture began and found a seat with Casey and the mutual friend. One morning Casey & Adam arrived to Biology class at the same time, before the mutual friend, so this was the first real opportunity to talk to each other. The conversation was effortless and Adam knew immediately this was a girl he had to get to know further. Our mutual friend arrived and accidentally spilled her coffee all over the ground in front of us. We responded by working together to clean it up and found a way to laugh at all the commotion.

For now & Forever

11.22.2022

I planned to ask Casey to marry me earlier that year, before the summertime, so I had bought the ring and tried to plan the perfect moment or getaway to pop the question. My mind kept creating every possible excuse to hold off, mainly because work was so busy and I kept concerning myself with how we would make a wedding happen. I had to conceal the ring out of reach in our closet to make sure Casey did not find it prematurely, and try to hide my excitement every time someone asked, "When are you guys getting married anyway????", putting the pressure on me to make my move. I finally did make my move after coming to the realization that I did not care what our wedding looked like or what would happen the next day if I did not make it known as soon as possible that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. The plan became very simple after that, before Casey got off work that night, I bought a couple of steaks and a bottle of wine. Casey got home as I was getting things ready for dinner and she helped me put the finishing touches on what she thought was just another nice homecooked meal after a long day. I became more nervous than I have ever felt in my life and I knew as the meal ended that my time to be a man was upon me. I told Casey that I had wanted to make dinner to treat her and as she got up to start cleaning up I said, "I have one more surprise", and reached behind some pictures on the shelf next to us to reveal a dark green ring case. I got on my knee right there in our living room and asked her to make me the happiest man in the world and she said, "Yes!". We are still writing our forever.
