It all started with a blind date. (Thanks Anthony and Kelly!) Kelly had mentioned this guy she knew who had similar interests as me, specifically in college studies. She thought it would be a great idea if we all got together, so she convinced me to meet up for a day at the lake. If you know me, I don't particularly love surprises or the unknown. It was Adam's 29th birthday the day we met. I'll never forget the first time we saw each other.. I barely spoke! Haha. After a day of fun in the sun, went to watch the Braves play and I can't even remember if they won (or who they played for that matter)! We had the best time, and have been together and inseparable ever since. I knew on that day, I'd stepped into something special.
"Adam made me wait a while.. 7.5 years as a matter of fact, but who's counting? ;) We had already been through so much over the years. It just felt natural that we were together and chasing our dreams. I had been dreaming of a wedding though, from the beginning. I even "joked" and gave him an ultimatum in 2018 that by the end of the year, we had to at least become engaged. Well, he didn't propose in 2018.. bummer. Little did I know he had bought the ring though. In early March 2019, we had started our Saturday like many others. We hadn't planned anything special. I knew though, something was up because he just kept quiet and I would catch him staring at me. We went to dinner near the Mall of Georgia, nothing fancy. Afterward we headed back home. I noticed he was still acting sort of off. He does like to get lost in thought, but this time it was different. It was getting late, so I got myself ready for bed. I came back downstairs after he begged me not to go to sleep yet. He then got really antsy. I was asking him if everything was ok and I sort of had a sinking feeling in my gut like something was wrong! He then left to go get "something" upstairs. When he came back down, he walked over to me and got down on one knee and asked me marry him right then and there on the kitchen floor. I'll never forget it. It was perfect and 'us' in every way."
