Bride
Our excited bride! The engine of planning and keeping people on track. When not planning the wedding she has been dreaming day and night about it... now that it's here may she will relax? Who knows! Remember a glass of red wine goes a long way on that special night for her.
Groom
The groom, the man of the day and we hope he's on time...? When he isn't stressing our bride out with questions and completing forgetting the day, he works hard to make his family happy. Overtime and lots of "do we really need that?" and many "when do I need to be there again?" has made this moment magical for his future wife.
Maid of Honor
The woman who makes magic happen! After knowing Amelia for over 7 years, this lovely lady is the reason our bride has kept her sanity.. mostly? Being a veteran at planning a wedding for her own sister before, Jorja is the map to this journey. Amelia would put a sappy message up here but that isn't Jorja's style so some jokes and little sentiment will have to do! When she isn't making sure Amelia doesn't have any crazy new hair color ideas (being a hairstylist the bride drives her a little insane) she is one of our favorite people to call family!
Best Man
Adam's best friend, silent partner in crime and the man who just keeps dancing! David is our grooms childhood friend and best man. David also known for not being on time (are we seeing a trend with these two?) is one of the kind hearted and funny people we know. Remembering that today is a marriage also means remembering the friends and family that have gotten us here, David is for sure the one that gets Adam places.. on time may be a stretch but this groom and best man duo make it happen.
Bridesmaid
Bella, the word for beautiful in Italian. One of the sweetest souls that we have been blessed to be apart of our family. This wedding planning journey, Bella has been essential in keeping the guest numbers on track (and less than 300 which is where we started). She also has volunteered her time and her family offered theirs to put together wedding social gifts, our photo ops and our decorations. Bella has also helped Amelia to gain 3 more tattoos prior to the wedding.. 12 wasn't enough so 3 more makes the magic happen! We couldn't be more grateful for someone who just like Jorja, puts up with our brides ideas (and maybe talks her out of some) and always puts a smile on both the bride and grooms faces.
Brother to the bride
Brenden, the brother that Amelia never knew she needed... she had 2 but a threes a party so why not? Amelia is a sap when it comes to Brenden and his family, someone who has fixed her vehicle one too many times, or reminds her to change her oil (which does regularly now). Brenden doesn't do sappy but for Amelia he is someone who reminds her that even on the days that are the darkest and gloomiest.. he's just as grouchy and gloomy so get over it! Having a brother who gives unconditional love is something that if you are lucky enough to be given, don't take it for granted, because that only comes around once in the right person. Now please make sure he gets Amelia just liquored enough that she forgets how many flowers and lights she needed to make this day happen.
Bridesmaid
Miss Alexis.. yes a dance teacher reference.. now we keep going! Alexis came into our lives during rugby season, moving from one team to ours.. the better team we like to say. But it became a deeper friendship when at finals, Alexis decided to break her ankle minutes into the game. Amelia had such a concern about her, while in the background Adam was saying it's not that bad is it? Alexis became the person who helped our bride get a damn backbone and tell people she's had enough. She's also the first to get our bride to do something fun instead of staying home with Nala and reading a book. Being a voice of reason is difficult when your bride to be is stubborn.. thanks for backing Adam up, we know he loves you for it!
Groomsman
Mr Letain... doesn't quite roll off the tongue like saying it to his sister who is a teacher who we call Ms. Letain. David has been around Adam in the rugby space since middle school but became more involved during high school at Dakota and into playing with the Assassins. David keeps things light hearted by telling us to just play rugby, or take that trip, because why not? David's adventures remind both our bride and groom that life is too short and live whole heartedly and happily. Thank you David for being apart of our journey!
Bridesmaid
Where would we be without Brooke? Amelia and Brooke became friends off of bumble bff, an unlikely friendship since Amelia is awful at answering the phone. Brooke always brings a sense of calm but hilarious energy to every room. Living out of town it is hard sometimes to see her but whenever our Bride and Brooke hang out it is some of the best quality time spent together. Miss Nala also says her Auntie Brooke has to be here because she's one of her favourites!
Groomsman
Dawayne! When in doubt this is the man to come to if you want some flower (if you catch our drift) or if your vape is dead find him.. unless his is dead then he'll find you. But jokes aside, Dawayne is one of those people who just gets it. With a lot of life lived he brings such a fun but understanding point of view. Forever being grateful that playing rugby brought Dawayne into our lives, we hope to have him with us for many more years and adventures!
Bridesmaid
Miss Grace came into our lives within the past 2 years. From meeting for the first time, to Brenden telling us that they were dating, we are grateful for her. Always the life of the party and the first to get to the dance floor, Grace is always the light of any event. Being the light of a party but also being a light in our lives is something that both our Bride and Groom couldn't be more grateful for! Knowing that today we have so many people celebrating us, we will always celebrate our family and having Grace be a part of that family means the world.
Groomsman
Erik Sears, or as Adam calls him the "Older Sears". Erik's journey in Adam's life also started in middle school going into high school at Dakota Collegiate. Erik played rugby and eventually became a coach there. He encouraged Adam to coach at Dakota and become a bigger part of the rugby community. After being introduced to Erik, Amelia knew he would be someone who means a lot to our lives. Being in engineering, travelling with his wonderful partner and always being a busy man, Erik making time for our Bride and Groom means more than we can express! Also we'd like to mention this is his first wedding where he is a groomsmen, we think he's doing a great job at that too!
Bridesmaid
Oh Rachel where do we begin? Meeting first at an Assassins practice, going to rugby events and being a never ending hype woman. There isn't anything Rachel can't do! While juggling her many jobs, working out and making time for her friends we know that our time with her means just as much to her as it does to us. Being a voice of reason for Amelia is hard, but somehow from the beginning Rachel has done that. As our festivites have taken place, having her be involved has made this experience all the more magical!
Groomsman
Little Sears.. well not so little anymore! Drew and Adam also went to Dakota (are we seeing a trend here?) in separate grades. Playing rugby together on the Dakota 7's team, particularly playing against St. Paul's in Adam's last year of high school and beating them each time they played. Drew has excelled in rugby with the Assassins rugby team and also is in engineering! We are grateful to Drew, taking the time to be in our lives and giving us another reason to grow our wonderful group of friends we call our family!
Bridesmaid
Mama Heather, ever the voice of reason and reminding us to live a little! While balancing being a rockstar mom to amazing kids, Heather made time to try out a sport and became friends with our bride and fellow rugby playing bridesmaids. When she does make time for herself (we still don't know how she does it), she gives quality time to our bride and all those she loves. A special mention to her knee that she hurt and still showed up to the wedding social and absolutely rocked the event. Having Heather be a piece of our special day and our lives continues to be a blessing and a gift we couldn't be more grateful for!
Groomsman
Having another childhood friend of Adam's be in our wedding party means a lot! Knowing each other since grade 5, both our groom and groomsman literally grew up together. Both going to different elementary schools but eventually ending up at Dakota they have fun memories and probably some questionable adventures. Braden brings a sense of laughter and adventure to Adam's life that both our bride and groom are always grateful for!
