If you want to do something fun, exciting, and unique, check out Safari West in Santa Rosa. You can go there for a day trip safari and even stay overnight!
The famous Napa Wine Country is only 35 minutes away from Santa Rosa. There are MANY great wineries to choose from. We recommend making reservations to make the most of your visit, but most wineries still accept walk-ins. Some recommendations: Rombauer Vineyards [Famous for their Chardonnay; reservations REQUIRED] Duckhorn Vineyards Hall Wines [Famous for their Cabernet Sauvignon] Frank Family Heitz Cellars [They have FREE tastings] Beringer Vineyards [BEAUTIFUL property; tasting options are endless] Sterling Vineyards [They have a Gondola] Castello di Amorosa [It's a castle!] Peju Province Winery Robert Mondavi Winery
GREAT beer and food (full kitchen). Energetic atmosphere. Get there early...there is usually a line to get in. But it is worth the wait!
In an industrial area, but has a cool, chill vibe. They do not serve food, but they have snacks available for purchase. They also have a selection of board games you can play while you relax with your beer.
Beautiful views and lovely picnic area (you can bring your own food for a picnic). One of our favorite places to go for wine tasting. They are known for their Chardonnay (which we love), but we also love their Zinfandel. Reservations are required. Request Stephanie if you can--she's our favorite host!
Another one of our favorites for wine tasting. They have really good Merlot and Cabernet varietals. There is a resident cat who hangs out around the property--you might see her taking a nap on one of the lounge chairs outside (don't worry, she is extremely friendly).
If Cabernet Sauvignon is your thing, you have to stop by Hall. More of a modern/industrial vibe but the property is beautiful.
