Attire: Black tie optional. The general mood board: Lush, moody, jewel-toned, romantic. Think deep jewel tones, dramatic silhouettes, luxe textures, and dressed-up evening glamour. Remember, this is a gay wedding. This is your moment. Festive velvet jacket? Yes please. A sequined dress in inky plum? Absolutely. Overall, please make sure you are comfortable and ready to dance your ass off.
Groundbreaking.
We understand that Friday weddings can be difficult, and we seriously appreciate all of you who are taking time off work, traveling in, and overall going out of your way to celebrate with us. The wedding isn't until the early evening Friday, so some folks may want to fly in on Friday morning. However should you travel in Thursday, be sure to meet us for the post-rehearsal reception that evening. We'll have an open bar and food (see "Schedule" page for more details).
Best part about Friday weddings: the party doesn't stop after the wedding. All post-wedding activities are completely optional, but for those staying in town until Sunday, we'd love to hoard all the time with you that we can. We'll be posting up around Detroit on Saturday for a late afternoon brunch or pizza meet-up and then some evening debauchery to follow, and all will be welcome. Stay tuned for more details. But if you're sick of us, we get it. Detroit is a treasure trove of bars, restaurants, museums, and beautiful art deco architecture to explore. If you haven't tried Detroit style pizza, you must. The Motown museum is a popular one for obvious reasons. Keep an eye on the "Things To Do" page for more recos.
