After searching near, far and everywhere. The magic finally happened when we both signed up for Match.com. Come to find out great minds think alike, we both signed up on the same day. After talking online and over the phone a while, we finally went on our first date to Dukes in Malibu and a few other places it was a day we will never forget or at least I wont. Debra didn't remember much (let's face it those Mai Tai's are potent, and my striking good looks and rugged exterior is a lot to handle without a few cocktails) but she left a lasting impression on me.
The years have gone by and there was no way I was going to spend another day without this amazing woman by my side. The 5th anniversary of our first date we traveled up to Napa. Neither of us had ever been there but we will never forget and will always hold Napa near and dear to are hearts. Enlisting the help of my mom and dad, I had them bring some decorations from our house to prep the castle. Yes Castle, after searching wineries and special places to pop the question I found the perfect place, a Castle for two. So the place was set but how do I get her there? Let's face it she knows everything and I can't hide anything from her. So after fabrication and the best story ever, she believed we were going on a private wine tasting for 2 at some random winery. We pulled into the gate and drove down the vine lined driveway and behind the main house. Where we entered a small gate and had the views of a beautiful pool and a quaint little castle. Debra thinking all this time that I booked a Groupon wine tasting had no idea what was happening. We walked under a beautiful brick gazebo, where my mom and dad had set up a table for two with empty wine glasses and beautiful cakes with our initials on them. As I got down on one knee and proposed to her in this surreal location I was ecstatic to see her nod YES. The plan went off without a hitch and was captured by a photographer hiding in the bushes. I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Debra for such a long time and was so happy that she actually said yes.
