VISA (ETIAS) Requirements for Americans
Starting in the last quarter of 2026, residents of visa-exempt countries (this includes the US) will be required to file an electronic visa in order to enter Europe for short-term stays. The EU has not yet announced a specific date regarding when ETIAS will come into effect. We are monitoring this and will provide further details and a direct link once that information is made available. If ETIAS does launch before the wedding, here is what you can expect once the website is up: 1. Apply for your ETIAS visa online using the official website 2. Pay a roughly $25 processing fee (20 euros) 3. Receive email confirmation that your ETIAS has been attached electronically to your passport 4. Bring a printed copy of your ETIAS with you when you travel *It is important to make sure that your passport is valid at least 6 months beyond your intended travel. It is not possible to travel with a passport that expires in less than 6 months.

Which airport should we fly to? // Na které letiště máme letět?
We recommend flying to VIE - Vienna or PRG - Prague. Vienna is closer (approximately 2 hours by bus) and the van ride from Prague is about 3 hours. See the note below for airport transportation. // Doporučujeme letět na letiště VIE – Vídeň nebo PRG – Praha. Vídeň je blíže (cesta autobusem trvá přibližně 2 hodiny) a cesta minibusem z Prahy trvá asi 3 hodiny. Informace o dopravě z letiště najdete v poznámce níže.

Airport Transportation // Doprava z/na letiště
We recommend using RegioJet for transportation to and from the airport. This allows for a direct connection from the airport to Brno rather than needing to transfer or navigate trains. Bus station in Brno: Brno Bus Station Grand Vienna airport station: Vienna - Schwechat Airport Prague airport station: Prague - Václav Havel Airport Prague If you are taking a relax bus, we recommend the upgraded seats. It's not a significant price difference, but it is a significant upgrade as far as comfort. The seats at the base price are a bit squished. Transportation to and from the Vienna airport is typically a bus, while transportation to and from the Prague airport is a van. If you are traveling with children who would need a carseat, we recommend traveling through Vienna. // Pro dopravu z letiště a na letiště doporučujeme využít služby společnosti RegioJet. Získáte tak přímé spojení z letiště do Brna, aniž byste museli přestupovat nebo se orientovat v železniční síti. Autobusové nádraží v Brně: Brno Bus Station Grand Nádraží u vídeňského letiště: Vienna – Schwechat Airport Nádraží u pražského letiště: Prague – Václav Havel Airport Prague Pokud cestujete autobusem Relax, doporučujeme si připlatit za lepší sedadla. Cenový rozdíl není výrazný, ale z hlediska pohodlí se jedná o významné vylepšení. Sedadla v základní ceně jsou poněkud stísněná. Doprava z a na letiště ve Vídni se obvykle zajišťuje autobusem, zatímco doprava z a na letiště v Praze minibusem. Pokud cestujete s dětmi, které potřebují autosedačku, doporučujeme cestovat přes Vídeň.

Where should we stay? // Kde se ubytovat?
We recommend staying in Brno-Lesna area. This is only one bus away from the wedding venue, but not so far from downtown. You can be in Brno city center in 30 minutes or to the venue in 30 minutes. It's the perfect middle ground. Specifically, we would like to recommend Hotel JeštěBrno, which is linked below. If you would like to stay downtown, that's great as well! It just means that you'll be navigating a tram and a bus to get to the venue and back. // Doporučujeme ubytování v lokalitě Brno-Lesná. Je to jen jedna zastávka autobusem od místa konání svatby, ale zároveň to není daleko od centra města. Do centra Brna se dostanete za 30 minut a na místo konání svatby také za 30 minut. Je to ideální kompromis. Konkrétně bychom vám rádi doporučili Hotel JeštěBrno, na který najdete odkaz níže. Pokud byste se chtěli ubytovat v centru města, tak je to také skvělé! Znamená to jen, že se budete muset dopravit tramvají a autobusem na místo konání a zpět.

Traveling by train? // Cestujete vlakem?
If you're wanting to book train tickets, we recommend traveling with České Dráhy. They have a great application with helpful features and booking directly through ČD may be cheaper than through a website from another country. The closest train station is Brno Hlavní Nádráží. // Pokud si chcete rezervovat jízdenky na vlak, doporučujeme cestovat s Českými drahami. Mají skvělou aplikaci s užitečnými funkcemi a rezervace přímo přes ČD může být levnější než přes webové stránky z jiné země. Nejbližší vlakové nádraží je Brno Hlavní nádraží.
