Porto is best known for its port wine. Though we will have a port wine tasting and cellar tour on Sunday, you might want to hit up more spots. The port wine tasting rooms are on the southern/Gaia side of the river. All of the tasting rooms I have been to have been great so really you can take a stroll and just pop into places or you can research for the vibe you want. Calem, Sandeman, Taylor's, Graham's, Ferreira, and Burmester are all popular choices.
Walking along the river might be our favorite thing to do in Porto. There are restaurants on both sides but more on the northern side of the river. The southern side of the river has more port wine cellars than restaurants.
The Ponte Luis I bridge is very beautiful to walk across both on the upper platform and the lower platform. There is a gondola on the southern side of the river that helps you get from the lower level to the upper level.
The gondola offers a pretty view from the lower section of Gaia to the upper section or vice versa.
Tinned fish is extremely popular in Portugal. There are beautiful shops where you can enjoy the bring and colorful packaging. Even if you don't like tinned fish, it is worth popping in if you are in the area.
A classic European cathedral. If you're in the area, it's nice to check out.
This station is supposed to have really beautiful tile work. We have not actually been but it is on our list to go!
This is a very beautiful book store. Because of it's popularity you now have to book tickets in advance for a specific entrance time.
These two churches are next to each other and have a tiny house built in the space between them. If you buy tickets to the church on the right, you can buy entry to the tiny house.
Portugual is known for their amazingly beautiful tile work. This cute little museum shows off the tiles from around Porto. We have not been there yet but it is on our list!
This cute little rooftop bar offers a great view. It is hike straight up a hill to get there and it can get crowded. We were there right when it opened though and had a lovely time relaxing.
This is a food court that would be good for groups if you can find seating together. There will be lots of options. We have been to the one in Lisbon and have to imagine it to be similar.
I know many of you will be traveling in large groups so this might be an option for food. This European food court offers a lot of options. It is fish-heavy in the offering. We do not remember if there are good vegetarian/vegan options. With it being tourist season, it might be a bit of a project to get seating together but might still be workable.
