We highly recommend this family-friendly beach! Water shoes are recommended for swimming. Lifeguards are on duty. The beach features a shaded picnic area, showers, restrooms, playground, spray park, ice cream truck, and scenic walking path.

Stony Brook Village
This charming shopping area features unique boutiques, gift shops, and eateries. We recommend stopping by Sweet Mamas for old-fashioned ice cream, Schnitzels for a hearty meal or beer, and Crazy Beans for breakfast and fun coffee drinks. You can also check out The Jazz Loft for an intimate live jazz experience, the Long Island Museum to dive into regional art and history, and The Reboli Center, which showcases the magnificent paintings of Joseph Reboli.
Port Jefferson Village
Port Jefferson (known by locals as Port Jeff) is a vibrant town with a rich maritime heritage. Stroll through the streets filled with shops and restaurants. Ralph's Italian Ices is a local favorite. Enjoy harborside dining at The Waterview (restaurant of Danfords Hotel). Harborfront Park is a great spot for a picnic or leisurely stroll with beautiful views of the harbor and Long Island Sound.

1. The Hamptons Around 1-1.5 hours from Stony Brook, the Hamptons offer stunning beaches, charming small towns, and high-end dining. 2. Fire Island A short ferry ride from Sayville (about 45 minutes from Stony Brook), Fire Island is a serene getaway with pristine beaches, quaint boardwalks, and fun nightlife. 3. North Fork Wine Trail About an hour’s drive from Stony Brook, the North Fork of Long Island is home to over 40 vineyards. A great day trip for wine lovers. 4. Montauk Another iconic Long Island destination, about 1.5-2 hours from Stony Brook. Visit the Montauk Lighthouse, hike scenic trails, and relax at the beach.
