Chris and Hannah first met at the Grand Rapids, MN Target’s inventory where Hannah yelled at Chris for not knowing how to back stock items. Hannah complained to Chris for not inviting her to dinner the evening before with the rest of the inventory crew so they got pizza as a late lunch at LMNO Pizza in Cohasset, MN. Now this was not their first date although Chris paid the bill. Flash forward to October 10th, 2022 when Chris asked Hannah how she was doing in her role as a leader. Hannah began ranting about her store. Chris then called Hannah on her way home from work, that phone call started the non stop talking over the next month. Awhile later, Chris asked Hannah to be his girlfriend on November 5th, 2022.

A week or so prior to the proposal Chris asked Hannah if she wanted to do a day trip to the north shore. Chris had been wanting to see the recent fire damage in the iron range, so they stopped and looked at what was left. Chris was constantly making sure they were on time to the proposal location at Sugar Loaf Cove. Once they got there, Chris and Hannah began walking the path to the beach. On the beach Chris grabs Hannah's hand and leads her onto a large rock near the water, Chris then said all of these kind words, before he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Chris surprised Hannah with a hotel room, dinner reservations and a surprise photographer that captured the moment. Hannah and Chris then called immediate family to share the fantastic news.
