FAQs

Question

What'll the weather be like in Florida in September?

Answer

It will be warm! We may have sun showers as this is the end of our storm season, and there may be humidity. We find it lovely and mild, being nearer the coast, but our most recent comparison is South Florida not the far north. Most mornings and evenings are mild, and our town full of lots of wonderful shady and breezy places to hang out. The church has AC, the courtyard is semi-covered, and reception then partially indoors. You're very welcome to dress lightly for wedding, etc. to ensure you'll be comfy! Shorts are literally completely fine.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, check our travel section for local recommendations and our room block. We'd also suggest looking at Air BnB options for a few more cozy, in-neighborhood spots. We love the walkable neighborhoods of Riverside, Murray Hill, Five Points, and San Marco, and have included ideas of 'things to do' in each as well in travel section!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Doors will open at 2:30 pm, and we encourage you to show before 2:45 pm to ensure you get settled in prior to ceremony start at 3 pm.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Theme is swamp gothic/tropical disco! Do with that what you will, and don't stress about it. We can't wait to see what you wear!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Absolutely, though things might get a little wild in the swamp after 9 pm.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Riverside Church has an expansive lot in back for all attendees. Spots in front of the church and around the neighborhood are free and do not have any time limits.
