When we met in August of 2022, I think we were both resigned that it would be awhile before either of us found the right person. Will had just commissioned to the US Public Health Service at the outset of his last year of vet school, and Acadia had just started as a first year vet student. We met at brewery night hosted by the upperclassmen to welcome the incoming class the weekend before the fall semester began. Acadia brought Reya with her, and Will was immediately taken by them both- but if you ask him, he was more excited about the goofy bernese mountain dog puppy as opposed to the little bubbly blonde. Thanks to Reya, Will asked Acadia if she'd go grab drinks with him later that week, and after that we were inseparable. Four months later, Will brought home a scrawny grey kitten on his shelter medicine rotation, and used that as an excuse to move in with Acadia full-time. Clever. Will graduated in May of 2023 and the two took a cross-country road trip to move him to Twin Falls, Idaho. They talked about the future, and realized what a dynamic and steadfast team they made. Acadia left Will in Idaho, and we shared the same resolve to approach the challenges of long-distance as a team. We adopted the mindset that life is one grand adventure, and have lived every ounce of that. We've visited over a dozen national parks together, moved across the country, adopted animals, flown over oceans, bought a house, and graduated one of the most difficult degree programs in the country- not once, but twice. Our resolve to approach life as teammates culminated in Will proposing in Shenandoah National Park in July of 2025, and our quiet elopement in Virgin Islands National Park in December of 2025. Despite eloping, we still wanted to celebrate our wedding with friends and family. We can't wait to host the most magical night of our lives, and celebrate our love story with the people we cherish so deeply. None of our story would have been possible without the support of a small army, and we cannot wait to celebrate with you!
