We're Getting Married!

One day, Denzel saw Abry on a friend's Instagram page. Right then and there, he said, "This is someone I can take home to my mother." A few months later, their paths finally crossed when they both attended Oakwood University. Their mutual friends decided to hang out at a restaurant called Taco Mama. According to Abry, Denzel was the loudest, but he doesn't remember that part of the story. As the school year went on, they became closer. Denzel worked on building a friendship with Abry. They began hanging out and attending church together. Abry would attend Denzel's intramural basketball games and even took Denzel to urgent care when he needed a ride. When people asked if something was going on between them, Abry and Denzel would deny it. One night, Denzel picked up Abry from a friend's house, and they sat in the car talking for hours. Unable to hide his feelings any longer, Denzel asked Abry to go on a date with him. After a month of dating, they decided to have a picnic in the park on a Sabbath afternoon. That day, Denzel asked Abry to be his girlfriend. The park is right next to Taco Mama, where they first met. After four years of long-distance dating with Abry in Southern California and Denzel in Memphis, TN, we are so excited to start our lives together!
