It was a sunny December day of our Junior year of high school when we met, not thinking anything of the encounter we politely introduced ourselves to each other and moved on, little did we know that our souls had found their match in that exact moment. The first part of our relationship we spent as best friends, practically inseparable. It wasn't until our first year of College when we decided to make it official with the blessing from our families. Through the years we both grew together while making sure we kept God centered in our lives and relationship. It made us stronger than ever, and ready to conquer life. Seven years has brought a million laughs, tears and so much adventure! From our very first date (Abri made the first move!) in 2011 to our most recent and most memorable family trip to Mexico this summer. We are best friends, fantastic dog parents, each other's #1 fans (while still keeping each other humble), the keepers of each others love, but most importantly we are the keepers of Gods love.
In April of 2019 with the blessing from his parents and our pastor Joel sat down with Abri’s parents and asked them for her hand in marriage. His family had planned a trip to Mexico that summer in June and Joel decided that’s when he was going to do it! He began secretly buying tickets for my family and arranging for them to surprise her out there. Abri being absolutely clueless to all of this was absolutely sure Mexico was out of the question (little did she know).. After MANY close calls we all arrived in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Joel had the whole day planned out, he even hired a photographer! Joel had his mom tell Abri they are taking family portraits at sunset on the beach for their anniversary so be ready in all white. She got ready while cracking little jokes at Joel until it was finally time to go down stairs, where his entire family was ready for the portraits. About half an hour into the family portraits Joel took her hand and walked her to the edge of the grass lookout right as the sun was setting, got down on one knee and asked for forever…surprised was an understatement and through the tears she shouted YES! When she turned around to look at everyone she could see her mom, sister and dad (on facetime lol) and cried even more! To top that all off Joel ended the night with a horseback ride down the beach!.. We are extremely happy to share this day with our closest family and friends. Thank you for being the greatest supporters to us throughout the years. With LOTS of love, The “future” Cedeno’s
