A long, long, long, LONG time ago (can you tell who is writing this? đ) Dan & James had dinner with Laurie & Lindsay at Red Sauce, the italian style food hall at Johnson & Wales Harborside campus. Weeks later after hanging out with Dan & James almost everyday, we went to the campus convience store & grabbed some snacks including some Ben & Jerryâs Mint Chocolate Cookie. James approached me in the stairwell and asked if I liked Dan - my response was to hold up the 2 spoons I had grabbed from my room to share the pint of ice cream with Dan. After a few weeks of dating I took a bus up to Boston on New Yearâs eve to spend the night at Danâs families house. We spent the night in Boston & got dinner at an Irish pub. Then on New Yearâs day 2011 he asked me to be his â¨officialâ¨girlfriend.
Then many, many, many⌠MANY.. years later, on a vacation in Miami, Dan & I went on a walk after having drinks at our favorite bar. We sat down just after the sun had set. Dan pointed out a cool boat to my left. I turned and saw two normal speed boats. I thought to myself âthose are just normal boats but okâ and said out loud âYeah, cool..â He then nudged me and said my name to get my attention. There in his hands was a ring and he asked me to marry him. I believe I said âARE YOU SERIOUSâ & then of course âYes!â We asked a random stranger on the walking path to take our picture & off we went into the city, I was probably happily skipping at that point. Through the ups and downs of life weâve stayed by each others side. I am forever grateful that Dan and I found each other.
A few funny memories for yaâs! - Visiting Drew at Umass Dartmouth & Joe at Bryant - Many trips to Westford & Groton (including the required trip to Johnsonâs for Pepper Rings & Mint Oreo ice cream) - Using a meal swipe for 3 hot dogs, 1 bag of chips, and a soda from CampCo - Smoking crappy cigars after a Bruins win - Dan yelling SNOW DAY out into the hallway in our dorm & pretending like we had no idea what the RA was talking about - Running away to Karenâs to hide for what Hurricane Sandy could have been (sorry Long Island, we got nothing up here!) - Human scavenger hunts looking for Drew - the infamous âEar plugs are a thingâ note from a crazy neighbor A huge shout out to some of our favorite friends who dealt with us while living together. ⨠Joe, Paige, Chelsea, Mikey and of course Drew⨠I know it wasnât easy but you 5 made our lives easier in ways youâll never know.
