Things To Do

Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park

Thornton Gap Entrance Station, US-211, Luray, VA 22835

If you have ANY extra time we highly recommend visiting this national park. In late October, foliage will be near-peak with breathtaking reds, oranges, and yellows. The closest entrance is Thorton Gap, just 15 minutes from Luray. A pass into the park is $30 per vehicle (good for seven days). It is well worth it!

Luray Caverns

Luray Caverns

101 Cave Hill Road, Luray, VA 22835

Apart from Shenandoah National Park, this is THE thing to do in the area. It's a beautiful, yet accessible, cavern located right in Luray. Tickets for adults are $34. They have a ropes course, gem sluice, garden maze, and more!

Shenandoah River State Park

Shenandoah River State Park

350 Daughter of Stars Drive, Bentonville, VA 22610

If you're looking for something more lowkey than SNP, check out the nearby state park. It features some beautiful views and easy hikes that would be good for kids and families. The park is a quick 20 minute drive from Luray. Entrance fee is $10 per car.

For all the days along the way
