Funny enough Kathryn and Will’s parents met long before they ever did; during move-in weekend at Southwestern University the two couples kept running into each other at various places around town and both informed their children they needed to meet the son/daughter of this wonderful couple they kept seeing. Kathryn and Will would finally meet the next year when they ended up living across from each other during their sophomore year in the student apartments. Kathryn and her friends were intrigued by Will due to his Facebook profile picture sporting a bowtie (coincidentally, from his brother and sister-in-law’s wedding) and were wanting to befriend the man with the bowtie. Kathryn and Will became fast friends and started frequenting date parties together. Over the next few years Kathryn and Will became much closer until Will asked Kathryn on what she refers to as their first “real” date; which would become the first of many and the start to a long relationship.
Fast-forward to April 12, 2023; Kathryn knows a proposal is coming (editor’s note: this is because Will is a terrible liar and Kathryn is a detective by calling) and sees right through the story Will had spun about what they would be doing that evening. There was one surprise she did not see coming… Kathryn and Will arrived at the Adolphus in downtown Dallas for dinner at The French Room, where they originally celebrated their first year together and Kathryn knew there would be a proposal at any moment, but she did not realize that her dream wedding shoe (Kathryn: “The iconic Carrie Bradshaw Blue Manolo Blahniks”) were waiting for her in the hotel room closet. Kathryn gasped when she open the closet and was putting the shoes on before she even noticed Will on one knee. Stay tuned on November 2nd to see Kathryn debut the shoes.
