So she packed up her apartment, put everything in storage, and hit the road with her dog, Gidget, staying in Airbnbs while figuring out where to start her next chapter. Charlotte was her final stop. She found a rental she loved but worried the neighborhood might be too quiet, until she saw a curly-haired guy walking his dog and stopped to ask how he liked living there. “It’s great, lots of people our age,” he said.
