Our Story

Meg's version

June 23, 2013 | It was a Sunday morning, and I was on my way to church. I knew weeks before that a new family from Kentucky was coming to join our church/school and that they had a son. Andrew was the talk of the school before he even came. All the girls teased each other about who would like the "new kid,” and I remember thinking to myself, "definitely not me.” Little did I know how much this new kid would mean to me. Talking to him was the most easy and comfortable thing, and I had just met this guy. You know the cliche saying "I felt like I knew him my whole life"? Well, I definitely had that moment, and I was head over heels crushing. We became the best of friends and now, seven years later, he is my fiancé (crazy). God has been so good to us through the highs and lows of our relationship. I cannot wait to marry my best friend!

Our Story

Drew's Version

Back in 2013, my family planned to move from Indiana to Maryland, and I was all but excited. My parents tried to make me a little more interested in the move by telling me about all the "cute girls" that were there at the church and school. They told me there was a cute little Filipina girl named Megan who I would like, but of course I was skeptical. Fast forward 7 years and here we are getting married! I remember seeing Meg for the first time and thinking that my parents were actually right...she was beautiful. High school sweethearts turned college sweethearts, and the rest is history. Back in high school, I had no idea why God was moving me across several states...but hind sight is always 20/20, and God knew exactly what He was doing. Were it not for that move, I would have never met my best friend, soul mate, and better half. Over the past 7 years, Megan and I have gotten to know each other in so many ways that make our bond stronger. Part of the years were spent long distance, in between semesters of college, and those times were difficult and trying, but made us better for each other in the end. Getting down on one knee in January and putting that ring on Meg's finger was one of the most exciting things I've ever done. The pure joy on her face, mixed with overwhelming emotions from both of us made for a night I will never forget. To Meg: thank you for being my best friend, girlfriend, and fiancé through the past years. You've taught me so much about you and so much about myself. I'm beyond thrilled to take the next step of life together with you! I can't wait to say "I do"!!!!!!

Our Engagement

Saturday, January 25th. We had picked up friends from the airport to spend a five day weekend exploring our beloved city. A couple days prior to their arrival, Drew had asked me to fit a trip to City Center in our plans- he was very adamant it would make for great pictures. So we added it. By time we got to City Center the sun had already set, and the walkway was beautifully lit. We took a couple of pictures of our friends, then Drew insisted we get pictures of ourselves. We probably took ten pictures before he was satisfied with the settings and the lighting (photographer probs). At the last picture, he said "Meg I'm sorry this isn't New York." Very confused, I replied "What are you talking about of course this isn't New York" (We had always talked about getting engaged in New York). I was still very confused. After that, everything became a blur: he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring and said..."Meg, thank you for being my best friend. Will you marry me?" The end. Obviously, I said yes or else you wouldn't be here reading this ;)
