Travel

The Wedding Website of Alison Hoesli and Blake Dinger
Milan, Verona and Venice are the closest major cities to Peschiera del Garda and all have train stations that will take you directly to the city center. We would recommend flying into any of the above on Monday, June 2 or Tuesday, June 3 (or even earlier) to allow a couple of days to explore! A reminder to check your passports because they cannot expire 6 months before your departure date. You'll find more info on travel needs in the FAQ section. Finally for accommodations, Europe does not typically offer room blocks - here is a link to a Google Map showcasing multiple hotels around the wedding area (we'll keep this updated!) https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1NDA9asoLEfFtgEw279Nx3zkyhjRhb2k&usp=sharing

Flight

Milan Malpensa or Venice Marco Polo Airport

While both airports are about 1.5 hours from Peschiera del Garda, more international flights are coming in and out of Milan - thus flights also tend to be cheaper. It's recommended to book flights no less than 6 months prior to your trip in order to get the best flight deals. We also recommend using Google Flight Tracker and/or Hopper to snag a ticket when the rates are low. The average ticket is around $900 roundtrip from Chicago.

Flight

Verona Villafranca Airport | Valerio Catullo Airport

Verona is the closest airport to Peschiera del Garda (only 45 min. to an hour by train, 22 min. by taxi or rental car), but direct flights are rarely available from major U.S. cities. That said, if you find an affordable connecting flight option, we recommend snagging it!

Train

Milan, Venice or Verona to Peschiera del Garda

It should be about a relatively quick trip by train from Valerio Catullo Airport in Verona (45 min to 1 hour), Milano Centrale Railway Station (about 1.5 hours) and Venice Marco Polo Airport (about 2 hours) to Peschiere del Garda. Please be aware of transfers when booking! Should you decide to bypass a stop in Milan, you can also take the train from Milan Malpensa Airport to Peschiera del Garda with a quick transfer (about 2.5 hours for the trip in total). Google Maps and the Trenitalia website are both very helpful when booking. Unlike the states where you can regularly get a last minute ticket, we'd recommend booking shortly after you get your airline tickets. While large, Milano Centrale is very navigable and most people speak English should you have any questions. I'm confident you'll have a similar experience in Verona and Venice.

Shuttle

Shuttle from Peschiera del Garda to Wedding Venue

June 6, 2025 2:45 pm

We will have a shuttle available for anyone staying in Peschiera del Garda to transport guests on the wedding day to our venue (approx 15 min drive). For anyone who would like to drive independently, a limited amount of parking is available. Please let us know in advance if you prefer to drive.

Hotel

Hotel e Locanda La Bastia

Via Bastia, 14, Valeggio sul Mincio, VR 37067, Italy

The majority of the properties around our wedding venue are quaint, bed & breakfasts or small hotels. You can find many available options on this website. We recommend staying in Valeggio sul Mincio if you only plan on staying for 1-2 nights. For guests staying in Valeggio sul Mincio, it's a short 10-minute walk from the village to our venue.

Hotel

Enjoy Garda Hotel

26 Via Venezia, Peschiera del Garda, Veneto 37019, Italy

If you plan on staying more than 2 nights, or if you're looking for the easiest transport option by train to/from the airport, we recommend staying in Pescheria del Garda. Enjoy Hotel is one of the top-rated hotels in the area but there are plenty of great options! We just recommend a staying somewhere close to the southern tip of Lake Garda for shuttle pick-up on wedding day.
