Our journey began in late 2015, not in a restaurant or on social media, but in a church, where destiny is often quietly at work. A brother introduced Abiola to me, asking that I help tutor her in preparation for the WASSCE in Mathematics. At the time, I hadn’t noticed her before because she was always in the Teens’ Church, and I was in the main congregation. But I took on the assignment. From our very first session, I could tell Abiola was different. Super intelligent, focused, and ambitious. She had dreams of studying Law and a deep interest in politics. Instantly, something clicked. Our tutorial sessions gradually turned into deeper conversations about life, purpose, and God. I was drawn not just to her brilliance, but also to her heart: hardworking, principled, and above all, deeply rooted in Christ. I often saw her in fellowship, asking thoughtful questions, and each time, I admired her hunger for growth. I was convinced she had great potential, so I kept supporting her academically, beyond the tutorials. Eventually, she sat for the exams including JAMB and did excellently well. By then, we were talking regularly and building what would become a solid friendship. Though she moved out of the area and didn't gain admission, I had gained admission into the university, we both made sacrifices to stay in touch. Her visits, despite the distance, meant a lot. We caught up whenever I returned from school, acting like the best of friends. In 2019, life happened , not drama, but growth. Our communication slowed down as I focused on building my career and growing spiritually. But she never left my thoughts. Fast forward to February 2024, something stirred again. Out of the blue, I found myself searching for her on Facebook. I reached out, and I was blown away. The Abiola I met had grown even more radiant: spiritually strong, purpose-driven, and deeply grounded. All the amazing qualities I admired in her had matured beautifully. I knew I couldn’t waste time. I made my intentions known, and after prayerful reflection, we both knew that this was God’s plan. Today, as we prepare to walk down the aisle on June 26 2025, I look back with deep gratitude. Our story "Love, Laughter, and a Little Bit of Math" has had its highs and lows. but God's faithfulness has remained constant. Abiola is my Proverbs 31 woman, a true gift, a partner in purpose, and the answer to a long-standing prayer. Together, with Christ at the center, we're stepping into forever. I love you, Tèmi nì Tèmi!
