Do you believe in love at first site? No? Yeah me neither, but I do believe in fate. Ryan and I had been going to the same school, but we ended up meeting at a school retreat being held at the Barbara C. Harris Camp Labor Day weekend 2016. We met by the campfire along the lake on the beautiful starry night. Super romantic right? Well, there were about 5 of us by the fire making conversation, when a friend of mine brought up the topic of marriage. More specifically he asked whether or not the females in the group would change their last names after getting married, or keep their given name. Fitz and I happened to be next to each other when the question was asked. The conversation between the two of us began in an instant and the unmistakable connection palpable. I mean he was CUTE!! The next morning, we had to get in to pairs for a group exercise. Fitz and I were completely aware of where the other was in the room, and I secretly wished that he'd come choose me as his partner. He did! He re-introduced himself (good thing too because I'd forgotten his name) and we got to work. When it was time to leave, I was choosing which bus to get on when I noticed Fitz waiting to see which one I'd choose (he sounds like a stalker now that I'm writing all this out, but he really isn't I promise). He ended up sitting diagonally behind me when we got on the bus. We got to talking and he invited me to hang out with him and his friend to install a subwoofer in his car. My friends, I had NO idea what a subwoofer was, but I said, "Yes, I'd love to!" You should have seen the look of surprise on his face! It was the look of "Holy crap, a girl said yes to hanging out with me?!?" It was honestly the cutest thing. :D Well, I ended up cancelling on him. BUT, I invited him to my best friend's birthday celebration that night. The rest is history...
