FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day! Our dress code is cocktail attire: a cocktail-length dress, floor length dress, or jumpsuits for women, and a suit/dress pants for men with optional ties. We kindly encouraged guests to wear jewel tones (not required). We just request you avoid colors traditionally reserved for the Bride: White, Creams, Ivories, and any other variations of white.

Question

Can I bring a date/plus one?

Answer

Please refer to your invitation for details on whether a guest is included. Your invitation will be made out to "(Your Name) & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. If you're unsure, feel free to contact us. We would love to celebrate with everyone, however our venue can only accommodate so many guests. Thank you for understanding!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The Ceremony will start promptly at 4:30pm and ask that you be seated by then. We recommend coming at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony. If you arrive after the ceremony has already started, you will not be seated and will have to wait until the start of cocktail hour at 5:00pm.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, we have reserved blocks of rooms at the Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago NW - Elgin (495 Airport Road). Make sure to mention our wedding for a discount.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes, parking is available at The Haight with several free parking lots & garages around. We suggest parking at the garage across the street located on the SW corner of Symphony Way & Douglas Ave. You can park there overnight, its free, and most importantly, it's across the street from the police department. If you're carpooling or using ride-sharing services, you can use the address of The Haight - 166 Symphony Way, Elgin, IL for the drop off point.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

Shuttles from the Holiday Inn & Suites to the venue will be available. Details are in the transportation section.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony, so no phones or cameras in use until the reception. The greatest gift you can give us is being present as we say "I do". We have hired professionals to capture this moment for us and we promise to share our photos as soon as we receive them. After the ceremony, feel free to take as many photos/videos as you'd like! Please remember to not post any photos of the wedding until the bride and groom has had a chance to do so first.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

If you do not RSVP by September 1st, you will be marked as "not attending". We would love celebrating with you, however, we have to provide an exact guest count to our vendors and cannot accept late RSVP's.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love kids, however, we’ve decided to have an adults-only ceremony and reception, with the exception of our family who will be part of our ceremony. We encourage you to use this night as a fun date night. We appreciate you making prior arrangements so you can celebrate with us!
