It all started with a connection on the dating app, Hinge. We both swiped right on each other. An ice breaker joke from AJ to see if Abbey was the kind of person to laugh at his dumb “dad” joke. How can someone not have a sense of humor in this day in age? “What do you call a bear with no teeth?” he sent. DING! “I don’t know, what?” she responded. “A gummy bear” and thus a relationship built on laughter was born. After a few days of texting each other they both decided to meet up to see if all those texts would translate to real life. Their first meet up was set for a brunch date at Relentless Brewing in Eagle Rock. Even a mishap like a nervous Abbey spilling syrup all over their table couldn’t dampen their chemistry. Soon, Abbey and AJ were on to date number two. A dinner date in the Arcadia Mall, AJ couldn’t shut up about his Animal Crossing island, but Abbey couldn’t stop talking about Tom Holland and Zendaya. Date two wasn’t a fluke and we weren't scared off yet. Unbeknownst to Abbey, AJ really wanted to hold her hand and give her a peck on the cheek goodnight, but alas, he was a bit shy and didn’t want to overstep what was a great night. On to date number three. A full night with dinner and a Van Gogh show in Hollywood. It went off without a hitch of course, but as the night came to a close, AJ walked Abbey to her car to say goodnight. A hug goodnight and lingering eyes led them to their first kiss, closing out one of the best nights in recent memory. They both decided that since the Holidays were fast approaching, they would meet up afterwards. With the Holidays behind them and Valentine’s Day around the corner, Abbey and AJ decide to solidify their relationship and start seeing each other as a couple. Three years later, on Abbey’s birthday with the help of her sister and parents, AJ proposed to her overlooking the city where they had met. Lots of love and laughs have followed the both of them from the very beginning. They are both excited to spend the rest of their lives together and happy to celebrate their amazing day with family and friends that have helped them become the person they both fell in love with.
