We're Getting Married!

They met as Resident Assistants at Calvin University in 2022, both living and working in the same building, Bolt-Heyns-Timmer. They quickly became friends, enjoying each other's company and bonding over late-night RA rounds and being in the same Rangeela dance group. Adham started developing feelings for Abby during the second semester, while Abby admired Adham’s kind heart, loved working with him, and relished their interesting conversations. They began studying together, grabbing dinner, and sharing laughter, but Abby was blissfully unaware of Adham's feelings and unsure of her own. As graduation approached, Adham feared he might never see Abby again. He wrestled with his emotions, eventually letting her go to follow her nursing and traveling dreams, trusting that if it were meant to be, God would make a way. Abby was very sad and missed Adham a lot. But, thankfully, God had other plans! That summer, Abby and Adham reconnected, and on a whim, he invited her to join him on a trip to Palestine. Abby, always up for an adventure and curious to know Adham even more, surprised him by agreeing. Adham was thrilled, if a bit shocked, and he couldn’t help but ask his friends, “Do you think she might actually like me?” They laughed and assured him that a girl willing to fly halfway around the world to meet his family probably did. Abby fell in love with Palestine—and with Adham’s family, and spent her days exploring with Adham and getting to know him on a deeper level. At the end of their trip, Adham confessed his feelings. Abby, though not as surprised as she thought she'd be, took a few days to pray, think, and finally tell Adham that she wanted to see where this path together might lead because she really liked him. She realized that she couldn’t let the fear of the unknown stand in the way of someone so special. On August 13th, 2023, they began seeing each other, and by September 9th, they made it official. Now, they’re excited to see where this next chapter takes them, hand in hand, with a lot of help from God—and each other.
