Abby and Trenton both met at The University of Michigan Dearborn, where they were both on the collegiate basketball teams in 2020. They became best friends and spent time together on and off the court. In friendship is where they found their forever.

On April 28th, 2024, Trenton proposed to Abby in Holland, MI at the tulip festival. Tulips happen to be Abby's favorite flower. This was the day after Abby's college graduation; as she told Trenton before, she wanted to wait until she graduated from college to get married.
