Every great love story starts with a little drama, right? We matched on Hinge and hit it off quickly, like every beautiful, modern love story. So quickly, in fact, that he asked me to watch a Bengals game at Brix Taphouse that very night—Thursday, November 7th. I said I was on my way… and then promptly ghosted him. (In my defense, I fully intended to go. My follow-through just needed some work, and I was scared of his charm and good looks.) Naturally, he did what any sensible person would do after being stood up by someone he met 24 hours ago—he removed me from his life. Swiftly. Cleanly. Done. Bye-bye to me as a match and as a follower on Instagram... he hit the UNFOLLOW. But God had other plans. Just two days later, on Saturday, November 9th, Georgia was playing Ole Miss, and Tennessee was playing Missouri. We both happened to be at the exact same bar, surrounded by loud fans, good food, and what we thought was just another Saturday DARTY. I saw him across the room. My heart dropped (He was SO HANDSOME). The man I ghosted—right there. I turned to my friends, astonished and so giddy! My friends then referred to him as "The Big Guy". I took a breath and sent a message: “Come say hi.” He waited. He read it. And he ignored it. He had every reason to ignore it. But eventually… he came over. And that’s where everything changed. We talked like no time had passed. We laughed. And laughed...and laughed so hard we hung out until 3 AM. After a few days of texting and proving I was, in fact, a real human woman who sometimes flakes—we had our first official date at Disney World. Specifically: EPCOT. We drank around the world. We laughed until our faces hurt. He sat me down in “America” and looked me in the eyes and told me how amazing I was. (Literally.) I was scared of his charm...again. He was perfect. Everything that I had hoped and prayed for. It was the best first date either of us had ever been on. So good, in fact… I didn’t even talk to him the next day. (He really should’ve seen what he was getting into.) But from that point on, we were it for each other. We’ve been inseparable ever since—through every season, every milestone, every memory. From a missed Bengals game at Brix, to a DM during college football, to EPCOT tequila flights and a bench in fake America… somehow, every twist and turn brought us right here. I didn’t show up that first night—but I’m showing up now. In white. For him. Forever.
