Tanner and I met in the fall semester of my freshman year of college and his sophomore year. We met at Richland Creek Community Church in college ministry. We started dating in August of 2017 and have been inseparable ever since.
One of our favorite activities in the summer is to spend the day on Lake Kerr on a wake boat. On August 2nd 2020, it was a regular lake day... or so I thought. Tanner usually likes to wake surf behind the boat so the plan was for us to get the boat ready for him to a surf. It was coming close to our 3 year dating anniversary so he told me that he wanted to get a picture with me while he was surfing. Little did I know he was was planning something. When I posed for the picture he called for me to turn around. When I did, I saw that he was surfing on one knee and had taken his life jacket off with "will you marry me?" written on it. I said Yes! I can't really put it into words how I feel about getting married to Tanner, because no words are good enough to explain how lucky I feel. I am happy, humbled, gracious, and excited to spend the rest of my life with someone so special. God's grace and his timing have been so apparent throughout our entire relationship and I am fully open to anything that He has planned for our lives together.
