Things To Do

Brochu's Family Tradition

Brochu's Family Tradition

2400 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401

If you’re looking for a dinner spot while you’re in town, Brochu’s Southern Tradition is one of our absolute favorites. The world-famous chicken is out of this world, and the oysters are some of the best we’ve ever had (seriously, don't skip them). We do recommend making a reservation if you can, but their outdoor dining area is first come, first serve. We hope you enjoy as much as we do!

Forsyth Park

Forsyth Park

Savannah, GA 31401

Located in the heart of downtown Savannah, Forsyth Park is one of the city’s most beautiful and iconic spots. It’s surrounded by gorgeous historic homes, moss-draped oak trees, a fragrant garden, and a beautiful fountain you can’t miss. If you’re around on Saturday morning, we highly recommend stopping by the Farmer’s Market (9am–1pm). It’s full of fresh local produce, handmade goods, and talented local artists selling their work. Collins Quarter at Forsyth is also located right in the park and makes for an amazing brunch or lunch spot. Relax, enjoy the view, and soak up the Savannah vibes!

Leopold's Ice Cream

Leopold's Ice Cream

212 East Broughton Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Ice cream is a very important part of our relationship, and Leopold’s is one of our all-time favorites. It’s a true Savannah staple that’s been around since 1919 and it's just as good as ever. We love stopping by, especially after a concert at the Lucas Theatre. There’s almost always a line (for good reason!), but don’t let that scare you off. It usually moves quickly, and the ice cream is absolutely worth the wait. My go-to is the Lemon Custard, and Sean’s favorite is Savannah Socialite, but honestly, we’ve never tried a flavor we didn’t love!

Service Brewing Co.

Service Brewing Co.

574 Indian Street, Savannah, GA 31401

We love a good concert, and if you’re getting into town early, here’s a fun way to kick off the weekend: Swamptooth, a local bluegrass band, will have a free concert at Service Brewing Company on Friday, May 23rd.

The Grey

The Grey

109 Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard, Savannah, GA 31401

If you’re looking for a truly memorable dinner spot, The Grey is something special. It’s housed in a beautifully restored 1938 Greyhound bus station, which makes it the perfect place to soak up a bit of Savannah’s history while you dine. Chef Mashama Bailey, who has won two James Beard Awards, serves up creative, elevated Southern food that’s full of soul and flavor. It’s a dining experience we definitely recommend if you’re in the mood to treat yourself. They serve both brunch and dinner, and reservations can be hard to get for either. So if this spot is on your list, we recommend booking as early as you can.

Common Thread

Common Thread

122 East 37th Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Common Thread is our favorite spot to celebrate special occasions. It’s located in a beautifully restored historic house, which gives it an intimate, charming feel that makes the whole experience extra special. The food is incredibly creative and delicious. We always find ourselves scraping the plates of everything we get. If you’re looking for a cozy, elevated dinner while you’re in town, this one’s a standout. Reservations are recommended.

Wormsloe Historic Site

Wormsloe Historic Site

7601 Skidaway Rd, Savannah, GA 31406

If you’re up for a little exploring, Wormsloe Historic Site is a beautiful and peaceful place just outside of downtown Savannah. The long driveway lined with massive oak trees and hanging Spanish moss is a breathtaking thing to see. The site has walking trails and ruins from a colonial-era home. It’s a great spot for a relaxed afternoon surrounded by history and gorgeous views. Just a heads up: there is a small entry fee, and it’s about a 15-minute drive from downtown — but totally worth it if you’re in the mood for something a little off the beaten path. Wormsloe is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., except on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Admission fees are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors (62+), $5.75 for youth (6–17), and $3.25 for children under 6. On your way out, take a drive down Bluff Drive in Isle of Hope. It’s a beautiful, peaceful road with historic homes, blooming gardens, and amazing marsh views.

Bar Julian

Bar Julian

201 Port Street, Savannah, GA 31401

Located on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel, Bar Julian is the tallest rooftop bar in Savannah, and the view of the city is incredible. You get a stunning look at the river and downtown, especially at sunset. It’s a fun spot for a breakfast, lunch, a casual dinner, or a few cocktails. Sean and I went here right before we got engaged! If you plan on eating there, we do recommend making a reservation. It is a popular spot! They are open daily from 7am to 11pm.

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room

107 West Jones Street, Savannah, GA 31401

If you’re in the mood for Southern cooking, Mrs. Wilkes’ Dining Room is the real deal. It’s a Savannah institution that’s been around since the 1940s. You will sit family style with other guests and pass around things like fried chicken, okra, collard greens, and other southern favorites. It's a casual dining experience. They’re open Monday to Friday from 11am to 2pm, and it’s cash or check only. There are no reservations, and there’s usually a line. It is $35 per adult.

They open for dinner at 6pm, and we definitely recommend making a reservation if you're planning to go!
