In the spring of 2014, Abigail sparked up a conversation with Philip; and after the third try, convinced him to go out to lunch with her.  Back in Illinois, they dated casually through a summer filled with stargazing, bonfires, and drive-in movies.  On an autumn hike at Starved Rock State Park, they fell in love ━ with nature, and with each other.  Two years later, they packed their bedroom belongings into their cars and headed west to the Rocky Mountains.  There, they grew into adulthood, together learning how to navigate their careers, the responsibilities of a home, and the growth of their relationship.  They became parents to puppies and friends with a loving community; and embraced Colorado through hiking, skiing, and climbing ━ all with a beer in hand! They road-tripped through Utah canyons, drove down the Pacific coast, hiked the Sedona vortexes, and summited peaks in the Idaho Sawtooth Range.  They soaked in riverside hot springs in New Mexico, saw cascading waterfalls in Montana, and at Yellowstone, Old Faithful dusted them with mist.   But they worked hard, too.  In the summer of 2019, they bought their first home ━ a sweet farmhouse cottage in the western suburbs of Denver.  They gardened vegetables, hosted barbecues, and Philip learned to be a true handyman, fixing flooring, plumbing, and all.   "When are you getting married?", their parents would ask.  And finally, in the spring of 2020 when the world felt that it could end, Philip proposed.  Standing at the top of Lift 6 at Taos Ski Valley, with a breathtaking view of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, he popped off his skis and got down on one knee.  Abigail fogged up her goggles with happy tears as she said, "yes!"  They set their wedding date for 9.9.21, seven years since the start of their relationship.  Together, they dream only of more outdoor adventures, even greater life accomplishments, and their happily ever after.  Thank you for joining their celebration.
