We met at a music festival in Miami through mutual friends. Abi had swollen cheeks from a recent oral surgery; removing her wisdom teeth. Moises looked at her as if he didn’t even notice the chipmunk effect! There was a great deal of dancing and not a lot of talking that first night. It wasn’t until our first phone call where Abi noticed how little English Moises spoke at the time. Abi rambled on the phone before finally asking “do you understand me very well?” To which Moises replied “some!” He learned English quickly, while Abi practices her Spanish, hoping to improve even half as fast as him! Esa primera noche hubo mucho baile y poca conversación. No fue hasta nuestra primera llamada telefónica que Abi notó lo poco que hablaba Moisés en inglés en ese momento. Abi divagó por teléfono antes de finalmente preguntar: "¿Me entiendes muy bien?". A lo que Moisés respondió “¡algunos!” Aprendió inglés rápidamente, mientras Abi practica español, ¡con la esperanza de mejorar incluso la mitad de rápido que él!

We took a trip to Washington for Moises to see the beautiful state that Abi grew up in for the first time. Moises comes from the Venezuelan mountains, so we both felt nostalgia enjoying the terrain with hiking and kayaking while we were there. In Cashmere, we hiked to the top of the rocks behind the mountain house Abi grew up in. Overlooking the valley in the foothills of the cascade mountains, Moises dropped to one knee asking “will you marry me?” with a ring in hand. Abi was delighted, saying “yes!” Hicimos un viaje a Washington para que Moisés viera por primera vez el hermoso estado en el que creció Abi. Con vistas al valle en las estribaciones de las montañas en cascada, Moisés se arrodilló y preguntó: "¿Quieres casarte conmigo?". con un anillo en la mano. Abi estaba encantada y dijo “¡sí!”
