We first met back in 2015 in Surigao City. A mutual friend, Michelle, introduced us. At the time, we were just two people connected by a circle of common friends. We'd hang out from time to time—group dinners, casual meetups, the occasional laugh—but we never really got close. We were more like familiar faces in the same crowd than anything deeper. Fast forward to 2023, we were both single and randomly reconnected online. We started chatting almost every day, just catching up and having fun conversations. Over time, things naturally shifted, and we began to see each other as more than just friends.
So... it’s official — I said yes to Merdz! 💕 Long-distance was never part of my plan, but love has a funny way of changing things. After a lot of prayers (and butterflies), I felt this calm reassurance in my heart. So I took the leap — and honestly? Best decision ever.
After all these years — since 2015, can you believe it? — Merdz and I finally saw each other in person again. I came home for Christmas, and he flew to Davao just so we could spend the holidays together. It was our very first Christmas as a couple, and even more special… he met my family for the first time. There was something so comforting, yet exciting, about having him there — like two parts of my world finally overlapping. We laughed, we caught up, we soaked in every little moment we’d been missing out on all these years. And somewhere in the middle of it all, without even saying much, we both started to feel it: this thing we have… it’s real. And maybe, just maybe, it’s something we’d want to hold onto — not just for now, but for the long run.
After 8 months of dating, Merdz popped the question on April 8, 2024 — right at midnight! It was super private and unexpected. We were just about to sleep when he asked me to marry him. I couldn’t hold back the tears as he slipped the ring on my finger. 🥹 That was only our second time seeing each other in person since Christmas 2023, which made it even more special. Then on April 13, during a quick getaway with our loved ones, he asked for my hand in marriage again — this time with everyone around. It was such a sweet and unforgettable moment. 💍❤️
