Abby and Matthew shouldn't have crossed paths since Abby was attending school at BYU-Idaho for the Fall 2023 term, and Matthew was working in Saratoga Springs to save money for his last semester. However, because Abby did not understand how the location feature of the dating app Mutual worked, they met each other online despite her traveling up to Idaho after visiting her parents in Chicago. They started talking over text, but their interest wasn't piqued until their first phone call late September 2023. Abby was impressed with Matthew's kindness and positivity and he with her happiness and enthusiasm. From there, the two dated long distance until Matthew's last semester at BYU-Idaho, where they both were in person for the Winter 2024 term. Each of them believes that their meeting was inspired, and their relationship better than anything they could have imagined. They are excited to be married in October and start their lives together.
