A: My senior year at UF, my friends & I wanted to kick off the new school year with cookies & inviting people over. My friend Zac brought his new roommate, Josh. I thought he was cute so of course I avoided him most of the night. We eventually got to talking & he told me all about his family & friends back home in Kansas City (wherever that was) J: So there I was, the new kid on the block, getting to connect with soon-to-be new friends. Abby (as I learned that night) came in, walked right past me. At the end of the night I introduced myself & we got to talking about who she was, what she was doing at UF. That’s when I became interested- the her confidence & passion she had for others showed A: A couple weeks later I noticed Josh would go to the workout classes my friends & I did. I started thinking he was interested when he went to the 6AM cycle classes I taught at the UF gym J: I got the inside scoop about Abby & basically came to find out that I was batting way out of my league. One night while out with friends, Abby asks “Are you going to ask me out on a date?” I may have blacked out for the response but later that night I officially asked her out A: Our first date was the best & longest first date ever! It started off with paddle boarding, then dinner, live music in the park, playing putt putt, getting ice cream, & ended with a movie with the roomies. Safe to say it went very well J: I knew she loved paddle boarding and ice cream and so I HAD to make those 2 things happen. The date was an amazing time getting to know Abby better. Still not sure if I will ever be able to top that one. We spent that school year & summer together getting to grow our own relationship. From visiting families across the nation, to going on adventures with friends, we got to lay an amazing groundwork for what was to come A: The last year & 1/2 has been long-distance while I get my Masters at UGA & Josh works in Tampa. We can't wait for no more goodbyes & celebrating that with you!
