Abigail 'interviewed' for a volunteer role with students at the church, and JJ was the interviewer. A few weeks later, we grabbed coffee together to chat about ministry. Then we met for a super non-committal "food"... then a baseball game... and then it was tennis... and after a few weeks into the friendship we were like, "Soo, you're not dating anyone else right? Cause I don't want to." There ya have it. Catch the funnier, cuter version at the wedding!
We went hiking at the beloved McConnells Mill spot, trying to catch the last of the leaves changing color! Of allll the weekends, I didn't see the proposal coming that day. I wasn't feeling well that morning (s/o mcdonalds oj) so we agreed to make it a short hike - shortly after we started walking he beckoned me over to join him on a large boulder protruding out over the middle of the river. JJ pulled a handwritten letter out of his pocket, and asked if I'd like to "put the orange juice down for this." Needless to say, SO happy we didn't call off the hike! We turned to see Giovanni walking towards us snapping photos of the whole thing. When JJ brought me home, he had a little surprise party waiting for us. That cruddy morning swiftly turned amazing!
