We’re getting married!

Ian first saw Abigail at a Bible study in January 2023. He thought she was pretty and went home that night to tell his parents about her. Curious, he asked around to see if she was single. She was—but when he tried to talk to her at another Bible study, they did not talk long. A few months later, after talking to Drew Ledford, Ian decided to message Abigail on Instagram. They talked briefly, but Abigail quickly ended the conversation. Over the next few months, Ian kept reaching out, but they did not talk for long. Eventually, he decided to take a chance and ask her on a date. Abigail's friend Riley Skaggs encouraged her to go, telling her she’d be missing out. She agreed. Their first date was in December 2023 when Ian was home for winter break. They both enjoyed it but weren’t entirely sure about each other. On their second date, Ian took Abigail up to Carvers Gap. Before the hike, she prayed about him, and the Lord began to change her heart. As they watched the sunset, their conversations became easier, and they both started seeing things differently. Abigail was completely won over. From that point on, they kept getting to know each other, falling more in love with each other every day! They dated long-distance through three semesters, with Ian making trips to see Abigail in Tennessee and Abigail visiting Ian in North Carolina, where he attends Belmont Abbey. They were engaged on March 6, 2025.
