We met like a scene straight out of a Hallmark movie, on a dating app, in September of 2019. After a week or two of chatting through the app and eventually through text/phone calls I asked Abigail to go out to dinner with me. I had to find out what this girl was all about, and the best way to do that is over Mexican food and margaritas. It was clearly the right move because it led to another date, and we continued spend our weekends together. In November I asked Abigail to be my girlfriend at Ijam's Nature Center with the intention of seeing the sunflowers (Abigail's favorite flower at the time), but my incredible planning skills came to light as I found out upon arrival that they were already dead. It's the thought that counts, right? Whatever I did worked and she said yes. Two years of my wonderful cooking and witty sense of humor finally convinced Abigail that she had to have me living under the same roof as her, and I moved into her apartment in July of 2021 and we closed on our first home in August of 2022. We had taken several short trips together over the years but we decided we needed a true vacation where we could relax and be together away from all of life's responsibilities. We decided to book a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico in August of 2023 to soak up the sun and maybe a little tequila. Me being the creative romantic that I am decided that it would be the perfect place to propose. Lucky for me she said yes and I get to marry the love of my life this December!
