Garrett and I graduated together, but we did not officially meet until a few years later. I guess you can say that I (Abigail) made the first move. I always noticed Garrett at the gym and thought he was so handsome. Me being shy, and awkward, never would go up to say “hi.” Instead, I thought it would be better to stalk his truck in the parking lot and/or purposefully go to the water fountain to take a drink (when I had my own water bottle). I wanted him to notice me. All I could muster up was wishing him a happy birthday on facebook. Our brothers were in the same grade and played baseball together. I noticed Garrett one game wearing an awful pink trucker hat, and again, akward me just sent him a message to acknowledge the awful hat with hopes of grasping his attention. From then on we started talking little by little. Finally, I met Garrett in person officially. We became like best friends so fast, I even let him flip me! It was that night that I knew Garrett was special. And looking back, I knew that night that I would spend the rest of my life with him.
Five years ago, I took Abigail to “Grimaldis Pizza” for our official first date. No questions, I knew I wanted to take her back to the same restaurant to propose. I thought it would be special to her. I was very nervous, but beyond excited, to ask my partner in crime to marry me. I was, and still am, pumped to spend the rest of my life with her. I took her to a nice grassed area in-front of the restaurant, then I popped the question (even though I'm pretty sure she had an idea it was going to happen)! She began to tear up with excitement. Everyone around us was cheering us on! I was so grateful to have good friends that could capture the moment… and thank goodness she said yes! We went inside to eat some yummy pizza, but the surprises did not stop there. I then took her to my parents house where we were surrounded by family and loved ones for a fun engagement party to celebrate! This day could not have been more amazing. We are excited to have a full circle moment and Grimaldis Pizza will be served at our wedding! I cannot wait to enjoy future events activities and experience life with my future wife!
