It all began in Vail, Colorado, where the mountains are tall and the rent is even higher. Out of pure necessity, we decided to become roommates. Abby and Corey were both starting the Steadman residency program, and sharing an apartment made far more sense than trying to afford Vail alone. What we didn’t know then was that this practical decision would become the start of something incredible. Between long days and nights at the residency and trying not to fall off snowboards in our free time, we went from polite roommates to close friends. We laughed through wipeouts, supported each other through studying, and slowly built a friendship that felt effortless and meant more than either of us expected. Somewhere between the mountains and the shared dinners, between the grocery runs and the trail days, we became best friends—and then, unmistakably, partners. Eventually, life pulled us toward a new adventure: Atlanta. Abby thought we were taking the leap *together* as a couple. Corey didn’t quite realize it yet, but he was packing up his life and heading across the country with his future wife. What started as a practical housing arrangement became the love of a lifetime. And now, we can’t wait to keep writing the rest of our story, side by side.
