If you are looking for a closer and easier hike to see the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Overlook. The Loop is 2.7 miles long, with a spur to a lookout point high over Lake Michigan. Lookout point is about 0.6 miles from the trailhead.

Great town with gift shops now occupy the buildings that once housed fishing gear, smokehouses and icehouses. Awesome cash only sandwich shop called Village Cheese Shanty if you want a good lunch or stop by Rick's Cafe for a good drink by the water!
